UMAX offers $500 rebate

UMAX Computer Corp. kicked off its holiday selling season by offering a $500 rebate for its 200-MHz SuperMac S900 Mac OS clone.

Those who purchase the system between Nov. 15 and Jan. 31 can get the rebate by sending a coupon that is included with the machine to UMAX.

The SuperMac S900 uses a 200-MHz PowerPC 604e processor, 512 Kbytes of Level 2 cache, a 2.1-Gbyte hard drive, 32 Mbytes of RAM and an 8x CD-ROM drive. It comes with Mac OS 7.6.1 installed. Before the rebate, the system has a street price of $2,495.
