US manufacturing activity hits 20-year-high

The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) purchasing managers' index, based on a survey of supply executives, rose to 63.6 points, the highest since 1983, from 63.4 in December. It was the eighth consecutive month of growth. Any figure above 50 points indicates expanding activity.
