US Report: Apple reports record online PowerBook sales
Apple said its online Apple Store received a record $1.9m (£1.16m) in orders in a single 24-hour period, thanks to heavy demand for its new PowerBook G3 notebooks.
The newly-launched Apple Store for the education market received over $1m in orders in its first 24 hours, company officials added.
The Apple Store Web sites are receiving 10 million hits per day, Apple's interim chief executive, Steve Jobs, said in a statement
