US Report: C-Cube shows set-top chip

Graphics ship maker C-Cube Microsystems Inc. unveiled a single-chip solution for adding digital TV and the Internet to digital set top boxes at the Western Cable Show in Anaheim, California on Monday.

Called the AViA@tv, the new product includes MPEG-2 decoding, robust graphics, two way networking and a processor on a single chip that is OpenCable compliant. Consumer device makers Pioneer and Pace have already adopted C-Cube's new AviA@tv platform, the company said on Monday.
