US Report: Graphics showdown: S3 sues Nvidia
Mainstream graphics chip maker S3 announced late on Monday that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against rival chip maker NVidia.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, seeks both to stop Nvidia from making and selling its popular RIVA family of graphics chips. The suit alleges that NVidia illegally used patented technology relating to mechanisms for mixing video and graphics data.
