UUNET outage fixed - users back online
UUNET users back in business as ISP fixes service problems
UUNET customers will be relieved to hear the ISP has now fixed the problem that prevented many users accessing US-based Web sites.
UUNET customers were suffering this morning due to a major service outage emanating from the US side of the ISP's operations. Worried consumers contacted ZDNet reporting major difficulties connecting to .com sites.
But this afternoon, a UUNET spokesperson said the undisclosed problem had been found and fixed.
"Everything is back to normal. Service was stabilised and resumed at 7:30am eastern standard time, or 2:30pm in the UK," she said.
