Verizon and LG announce their Galaxy Note competitor, the Intuition with Rubberdium pen
Samsung has done very well with the Galaxy Note device, I've seen reports of more than 10 million sold, and there are rumors of HTC coming out with a competitor. Today, Verizon and LG announced the LG Intuition, the US version of the Optimus Vu. The Intuition is an Android device with a 5 inch screen and pen, called the Rubberdium. It will be available on 6 September for just $199.99 with a new two-year contract on Verizon.
Specifications of the LG Intuition include:
- 5 inch display with 4:3 aspect ratio
- 1.5 GHz dual-core processor
- Support for Verizon's LTE network
- 1GB RAM
- Android Ice Cream Sandwich
- 8 megapixel camera with 1.3 megapixel front facing camera
- Bluetooth 3.0
- NFC
Looking at the specs, the Intuition looks like it competes well with the original Galaxy Note, but the lack of Jelly Bean is a bit of a disappointment. At least it is priced well for a device running older specs. The 5 inch display with 4:3 aspect ratio makes it look pretty clunky though and I am not interested in this device at all.
There are several software features that attempt to distinguish the Intuition and Rubberdium pen, including QuickMemo, adding personalized notes to different types of content, Polaris Office, NFC and LG Tag+ app stickers.
