Verizon cuts LG Spectrum and HTC Rezound to $99 on contract

Summary:The LG Spectrum and HTC Rezound are getting a lot more affordable for potential Verizon subscribers.

Hoping to entice consumers into two-year contracts, Verizon is dropping the prices on two of its best phones -- the LG Spectrum and HTC Rezound. Both devices will go for $99, which is a big deal considering that the Rezound sold for $299 not too long ago.

The Spectrum features a 4.5-inch display, 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor, and 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. Revealed last November, HTC's Rezound also features a 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB storage, 16GB RAM, and most importantly, Beats Audio technology. Like the Spectrum, the Rezound runs on Verizon's 4G network, and, be honest, it's the better of the two phones.

Of course, as cheap as the two devices are up front, their discounts require both two-year contracts and data plans. Also, both deals are only valid until February 28th, which is next Tuesday. So keep that in mind.
