Vic councils tender for VMware partner

A 58-strong consortium of Victorian regional councils is looking for a new VMware partner to manage the councils' VMware Enterprise License Agreement.

in brief A 58-strong consortium of Victorian regional councils is looking for a new VMware partner to manage the councils' VMware Enterprise License Agreement.

The Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV), on behalf of the 58 councils, is looking to enter a contract with a successful partner, based on competitive pricing schedules for its selected VMware products.

The MAV is hoping to leverage the combined buying power of all 58 councils to get a decent price for the contract, while developing a structure that would not prohibit smaller councils from taking up the new software.

The tender was released at the end of last week, and the deadline is 6 June.
