Video blog: Turning old CRTs into TVs

ZDNet UK's involvement in the Computer Aid cycle challenge across Kenya included a visit to the headquarters of Computers for Schools Kenya
Written by Andrew Donoghue, Contributor

CFSK (Computers for Schools Kenya) is a non-governmental organisation that works with UK charities such as Computer Aid, to distribute old PCs from businesses in the developed world to the country's schools and public-sector organisations. Part of that work involves the safe disposal of donated equipment that is not in a fit state to re-use. Old cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors make up a large part of this unwanted kit, so the charity has developed a unique method of making use of them — turn them into TVs.
