SINGAPORE, 7 July 2000 -- Mainpath, a supply chain execution trading hub that brings together buyers and sellers of logistics and supply chain management services, is forming a strategic alliance with Viewlocity, a leading global provider of B2B integration and online trading community solutions.

Viewlocity will supply two of the essential elements of the Mainpath trading hub solution: AMTrix, Viewlocity's event-based integration broker technology and XML-based logistics components to provide community members distributed visibility of their supply chain.

With Viewlocity powering its solutions, Mainpath will offer trading community members instant online access to information concerning complex, multi-leg, multi-mode shipments.

Community members will have the ability to define events that are of interest to them, and Viewlocity's supply chain visibility solution will proactively provide notification as these events do or do not occur. Viewlocity's solutions will allow the over one hundred Mainpath logistics firms that make up the community to create a tightly integrated e-business network.

"With improved access to comprehensive supply chain information, Mainpath's customers will realize increased efficiency, collapsed cycle times, inventory reductions, significantly lower operating costs and ultimatelxy greatly improved customer service," said Anders Berglund, Vice President and Regional Managing Director, Viewlocity Asia Pacific.

"Mainpath is streamlining supply chain management processes for our clients. We deliver information synchronization to these clients' supply chains," says Dan Neuwirth, CEO of Mainpath, Inc.

"AMTrix provides the scalable connectivity we require for our evolving online community, and Viewlocity's latest supply chain integration solution will allow for our community members to track their supply chain on a by-exception basis, in real time, over the Internet."
