Vonage eyes Singapore, Japan, Korea

Colleague Ben Charny reports today that Vonage will likely kick off its anticipated expansion into Asia by trying out the Singapore market later this year.

Why Singapore? Vonage chief financial officer John Rego says that the island nation's utility regulators are "very friendly" to Internet phone operators.

Rego adds that utility regulators in Japan and South Korea are similarly inclined.
