VXML lets you talk to the Net

The Wall Street Journal reported today on a new software agreement that will allow users to access the Internet by voice.

VXML (voice extensible markup language), under development with AT&T, Lucent and Motorolla will, says the report, become an open standard for commands to the Internet. A further 13 companies, including Unysis, Nortel and IBM will participate in the development of VXML.
