Attention all you Skype API jocks: I found a post today on Skype Journal that will walk you through the process of building your own Skype-enabled, virtual "answering machine."

I've read through the 62-page PDF. This is pretty heady stuff, but I imagine there's at least a few of you out there who might want to at least attempt this project.

First you'll need SkypeTracer, a utility that according to Skype Journal, lets you "monitor all the activity in your Skype client and issue commands via the Skype API. SkypeTracer displays a real-time listing of activity within Skype and communication to and from the outside world."

(He starts humming the words from "Wild World," the classic tune from the singer-songwriter once known as Cat Stevens).
