Melissa is a freelance science journalist and former writer and editor for Wildlife Conservation magazine.   She's written about as diverse topics as water quality in New York City and air pollution-induced asthma, and her work has appeared in Scientific American Mind, Audubon magazine, Plenty magazine and LiveScience.

A native of Pennsylvania, Melissa is a graduate of Boston College as well as the Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program at the Journalism Institute of New York University. She is a resident of Brooklyn, New York.
