Welcome to the new-look ZDNet UK

ZDNet UK has changed, but it's not all about design - there's a lot going on behind the scenes too.

As you browse the new ZDNet UK site you will notice a few changes. Some of these, such as the design, are obvious, but others are more subtle.

The design is intended to provide cleaner pages that make it easier for you to find and read the information you are interested in. Our new context-sensitive publishing engine means that when you are reading a particular article, you will see around it related information from other channels on the site.

And we have made a whole lot more changes behind the scenes. Since we launched ZDNet UK in 1996, we have continued to evolve the site, ensuring that it brings you the most relevant and timely information. Our mission is to identify and provide insight on the technology issues that you face. To this end we have been conducting research asking you just what are your top priorities for technology in your business, and we have worked the results of this research into our new design.

In the new ZDNet UK we have brought together more resources and tools, and completely revamped the design to better bring to the surface our depth of news, features, analysis commentary, and other information. Most importantly, we are now better reflecting your thinking in how we organise the site and in what we cover.

You’ll find it all in our Insight channel; the place where we delve behind the news with features, analysis comment, video, white papers and more. Basically, the Insight channel does what it says on the label. We have brought all this together with our IT Priorities special reports, which are based on what you told us are your main concerns.

You can find out more about our IT Priorities special reports here.

You will find these special reports highlighted on the Insight front page. We’ve built what we call an IT Radar to help you navigate to the special report you’re interested in. You can’t miss it. Here you will also find links to our Toolkits, which give you all the practical help you need: for instance, if you want to know more about storage area networks (and we know you do), then in the Server Products sector of the IT Radar click on SANs. There you’ll not only get a thorough grounding in storage area networking technology, but learn how build a SAN and then manage it.

In addition to this, ZDNet UK News will continue to play a vital role in keeping you up-to-date. If anything we are now giving you even more comprehensive and timely information on the technologies, products, trends and companies that are shaping the current and future role of technology in business.

Our search tool is also greatly improved, giving you one-click access to our vast database of news, features, downloads, product listings, and more than 30,000 white papers, case studies, research papers, and Webcasts. There are still more changes to come - particularly in our reviews section, which will be getting an impressive array of new features shortly, but we hope you like what we've done so far. Try it all out, and let us know what you think.
