in brief Westpac's senior IT team has lost another high-profile member, with group chief technology officer Sarv Girn being the latest to depart.
ZDNet Australia understands that Girn would be leaving the bank at the end of January. Girn was part of Bob McKinnon's technology "A-team", responsible for delivering on the Westpac Group's strategic investment portfolios (SIP).
Westpac declined to comment on whether the executive was departing, and would not say whether it would be looking to replace the chief technology officer.
Girn's departure comes as the Westpac Group reshuffles itself into two arms: the Australian Financial Services group, which will consolidate the Westpac Group's retail-banking brands and service; and the Group Services Group, which will encompass the Technology, Operations and Legal departments of the business. The Group Services division is set to be led by Girn's ex-boss, Bob McKinnon.
