When purchasing with their own money, games (63%), clothing (31%), CDs (27%), magazines (25%) and sweets (24%) take precedence in the minds of shoppers 6-14 years old. The largest disparity between boys and girls is in the Games category (63% of boys and only 48% of girls spend their own money here), and clothing (42% of girls spend money themselves, while only 31% of boys do that).
