Dell's "Wireless Security in 802.11 (Wi-Fi) Networks" white paper claims the top spot for a second week in a row, signaling strong interest in wireless LAN security concerns.

Each week, ITPapers (an online library of technical information operated by ZDNet) identifies the top 20 white papers, case studies, and Webcasts in the security category. This week, Dell’s white paper on Wi-Fi security retains its top spot, while white papers from 3Com and Tripwire made significant gains.

Interest in Tripwire’s “Art of Hacking” " Webcast "is a sure sign of growing curiosity regarding hacker techniques, whereas 3Com’s simple firewall guide reveals interest in foundational security knowledge.

Also noteworthy, is a new entry from Vernier Networks that found itself in 5th place. The white paper discusses using " Power-over-Ethernet " (PoE) technology to provide electricity to access points in wireless networks.
