Who has contributed most to UK technology?

Nominations are open for the CNET Awards 2004. We're looking for the biggest contributor to UK technology, as well as winners in 12 other categories
Written by ZDNet UK, Contributor
CNET Networks UK, the parent company of ZDNet, is looking for the individual or company who has provided the biggest boost to the UK technology industry in the past year.

Nominations are being accepted online, together with nominations for 12 other categories in the CNET Networks UK Technology Awards 2004. The Outstanding Contribution award is one of two for which we want your nominations. Nominees may have created an important technology or been an essential contributor to the debates around technology; they could be a champion of those who use technology, or may have contributed to policy in the technology arena over the past 12 months.

Make your nominations on the awards Web site, where you can also make suggestions for the Customer Service and Support of the Year award. In this second category, we're looking for those technology vendors -- hardware, software or services -- who give the best levels of customer service and support for business purchases. If you are a customer, we want to hear about your experiences at every stage of the buying process. If you've got a positive experience to share, this is the place.

If you are a vendor, then you may nominate yourself in the other awards which are split into three categories: business, technology and marketing.

The business category has CIO of the Year, Integrator of the Year, and Customer Service and Support of the Year. In the technology category, nominations are being accepted for Enterprise Software Product, Enterprise Hardware Product, Mobile Product or Initiative, Telecoms Product or Initiative, Security Product and Storage Product. Finally, the marketing award covers Technology PR Campaign of the Year and Technology Marketing Campaign of the Year.

Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on 28 September in association with the fourth annual Technology Summit at London's Park Lane Hotel. Individual places, and half and full tables for dinner can be booked online, with discounts available to those who book before 31 August.

The deadline for award entries is 30 July.
