Winamp for Android becomes a reality in beta mode

Remember Winamp? That music player program we all used before iTunes? It's back (not that it ever truly went away), and it's on Android.

Winamp for Android (in beta) certainly looks revamped from that rectangular box that use to hover in the corner of my monitor several years ago. But hopefully the reliability and ease of use is all still there.

But it has been updated for modern times with album art displays and interaction with several online music channels like Last.fm, Pandora and YouTube.

Compatible with mobile phones running Android 2.1 or later, users can actually sync with with desktops wirelessly if Winamp 5.59 beta is installed on the PC. Then again, there's always USB syncing too, but that's too much work.
