Windows Phone Wednesday: Final Fantasy appears as first Xbox Live RPG

Final Fantasy has quite a following and this week we see the game launched as the first Xbox Live RPG. Final Fantasy brings back memories from the late 80s and early 90s.

The newest Xbox Live game this week was released in Japan back when I graduated from high school in 1987. Final Fantasy has quite the cult following and now you can reminisce and play the game on your Windows Phone device for $6.99. It is quite a large game at 91 MB and I have the trial loaded on my Lumia 900 to test out. I can't say I was a major Final Fantasy fan or anything, but so far the game looks to stick with the original story and graphics.

WPCentral has some more information on the game's release along with a vital guide to secret achievements that you WILL want to read if you purchase and play this game. You will notice a small black space on the left of the display, but this lets you see the status of your connection and battery remaining so for those that play this for hours on end it can be helpful.

If you are an RPG fan, then you also may want to check out Dragon's Blade, Legends of Descent, Harvest or Assassion's Creed.

I downloaded the trial of Tentacles a few months ago and purchased it at the full price since it is such an engaging game. Tentacles is this week's Deal of the Week so you can now pick it up for just $1.99.

Last year we saw Microsoft hold a special promotion for Xbox Live games in the summer time. With a Microsoft developer conference taking place next week and E3 completed last week I hope we see more exciting Xbox Live games coming soon.
