The Microsoft MAX team announced today that they have a new version of the product out which uses the new .NET Framework RC 1. If you didn't know better, you would think this was something made for a Mac or made by Adobe. It is simply stunning, and it shows exactly what is capable when you focus on design and experience in your application.

In addition to a revamped photos section, they've added news. You switch between sections using a tab interface, and navigating through the interface is very intuitive. They have taken a rather "newspaper" like approach to news, with a lot of stories inside one feed section, but it's a novel approach to reading news (at least on the web). I couldn't find a way to import an OPML file, which is my only real complaint.

Microsoft did a great job here, and the MAX team should be very proud. It is very clear that there is a renewed focus on experience within the company, and this is a good showcase of how WPF can enhance that experience.
