The ITSingapore SME Awards 2000 aims to recognize dynamic local enterprises, which have used IT to their business advantage. The awards which are supported by ASME, Ernst & Young, the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) and the National University of Singapore (NUS), are the only one of its kind here for local enterprises.
Unlike other awards, which delve into the company's bottom line, the ITSingapore SME Awards specifically examines the SME's use of IT to aid its profit margins, reduce cost and increase productivity. This award also serves to acknowledge SMEs which shine in their IT implementation and vision across different vertical industry segments.
Criteria
A panel of judges from the ASME, Ernst & Young, IDA, NUS and the Newscom Group selected the five winning companies. The companies were selected based on:
IT vision
Current IT implementation
Innovative aspects of their current IT implementation
New business directions for the company
Proportion of revenues spent on IT
Total number of staff who use IT
Company revenue and profits
Objectives of the award
Acknowledge the achievement of local enterprises in their economic contribution to Singapore, and in their business goals across different industries through the effective application of information Technology
