SMB web company Wix.com has patched a significant gap in its product offering with the release of the ShoutOut newsletter tool.

The Wix platform targets non-techies in the SMB world with a platform that enables website building without the use of code. But if users wanted to send newsletters they would have to turn to other (sometimes integrated) services like MailChimp or Constant Contact.

With ShoutOut and its full platform integration, users gain the ability to customize newsletters with styled templates, visuals and media assets, and access to contacts collected through their Wix website for email lists. In addition, each newsletter includes social sharing capabilities and email analytics such as views, open and click-through rates.

Avishai Abrahami, Wix co-founder and CEO, said in a statement:

We allow small business owners to create and manage their online presence with enterprise-level solutions but without the need for enterprise-level resources. Wix ShoutOut is a classic Wix product - It provides a user friendly and code-free solution for a highly sought after business need. This is the latest addition to our comprehensive product suite, and we see it as an important step in furthering the Wix vision of creating a true operating system for the web.

Wix said ShoutOut is the first product to run on the WixHive API, which the company developed to allow formerly standalone apps to share their collected data.
