Worldwide router sales up 4% in Q2 2005

Worldwide enterprise router revenue totaled $791 mln in Q2 2005, up 4% from Q1 2005, but 7% lower than in Q2 2004, says Infonetics Research. Despite the mixed revenue picture, overall demand for routers is solid, with a 6% sequential and 13% yearly increase in unit shipments, and an expected 22% increase between 2005 and 2008, when shipments will reach 2 mln.

Despite the mixed revenue picture, overall demand for routers is solid, with a 6% sequential and 13% yearly increase in unit shipments, and an expected 22% increase between 2005 and 2008, when shipments will reach 2 mln. Secure router revenue and shipments both jumped 17% in Q2 2005, to $114 mln and 64,000 units, following a 23% increase in unit shipments Q1 2005.
