WSJ announces iPad app weekly, monthly subscription prices

The iPad news just doesn't stop coming, especially when it comes to the apps. Now there's an official price point for the Wall Street Journal monthly subscription tailored for the iPad, and it's a very odd number.

The iPad news just doesn't stop coming, especially when it comes to the apps. Now there's an official price point for the Wall Street Journal monthly subscription tailored for the iPad, and it's a very odd number.

Subscription costs start at $3.99 per week and $17.29 per month. Compare that to $2.69 per week and $11.67 per month for getting access to both the online and print versions of the Journal, and you have to question whether or not it is worth it for just a special app.

Some of the perks that come with the iPad version include subscriber-only access to Business, Markets and Opinion content, as well as archiving ability. Maybe its worth it if that content actually pertains to your profession, in which case your employer might cover the subscritiion for you.

Otherwise, it seems to make more sense to pay for the print/online subscription and just open WSJ.com in the browser window.
