Wynyard Group eases information security framework deployment

Summary:Increased regulation and the emergence of specialised risk managers are among factors driving the governance, risk and compliance market, company says.

Analytics and risk management software maker Wynyard Group has released preconfigured deployments for information security management and enhanced policy management in the latest version of its risk management platform.

Pre-configured inWynyard Risk 9 is the ISO27001 information security risk management framework, together with a number of information security compliance frameworks recommended by government cyber security agencies, the company said.

New Zealand-listed Wynyard Group said four factors are driving change in risk management software: growth in post-financial crisis regulation and penalties; investment in information security management; adoption of enterprise risk management by government; and the emergence of specialist risk managers.

Version 9 systematises processes used to manage business risks by identifying and assessing them for likelihood and magnitude of impact, determining a response and monitoring progress, the company said.

Wynyard said it is marrying that with analytics and configurability to meet the needs of risk management specialists and their teams, including personalised dashboards and standard and customised reporting.

Wynyard Group was spun out of New Zealand-based Jade Software in a NZ$65 million listing on the New Zealand Stock Exchange last July.
