Summary: The BlackBerry Z10 is finally coming to the US and the first carrier out of the gate appears to be AT&T with pre-orders starting tomorrow and availability a week later.

I have been enjoying my time with the BlackBerry Z10, but unfortunately, it is currently only available outside the US. That all changes in two weeks when AT&T launches the Z10 on March 22. Pre-orders actually start tomorrow, March 12, at AT&T.

The AT&T version of the BlackBerry Z10 will retail for $199.99 on a two-year agreement. There are no different configurations because all Z10 models come with 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 64GB in size.

This model will support AT&T's fast LTE network and offer all the great features I have been writing about. AT&T included the following in their press release:

  • BlackBerry Hub acts as a central location for your emails and conversations. You can easily peek into the Hub from any app with one swipe to see what's new, then instantly swipe back to what you were doing.

  • The new BlackBerry touch screen keyboard learns how you write and adapts to your typing style so you can write faster and more accurately

  • BlackBerry fans have long loved BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) . The new BlackBerry Z10 features BBM Video and Screen Share so you can catch up face-to-face and share the content on your screen with your friend or co-worker

  • Taking photos and creating memories is easier with Time Shift, an astonishing camera feature that captures the moments before and after you press the shutter to let you create the best shot; and BlackBerry Story Maker, which lets you weave those moments together to create a movie in just a couple of swipes.

  • BlackBerry Balance technology allows you to use your Z10 for work and play without compromising the security of your business-related content when connected to BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10

The Z10 is the best BlackBerry device I have ever personally used, and it will be interesting watching the first real new BlackBerry US launch since a couple years.

  • Quick, let's have another Superbowl

so they can blast 10 commercials, otherwise no non-tech buyer(most of the pop) will ever know it even exists.
    • I enjoy this ad we get in Canada.

Maybe other countries will get this too.

Too bad we have to suffer with d-bag hipsters and Unicorn Apocalypse Samsung commercial's in the US.
  • It should be interesting....

It should be interesting to see how BlackBerry approaches the U.S. marketplace - admittedly their toughest market to crack. Being in Canada where we have full access to the major U.S. media outlets, I'll be watching and comparing the approach taken both north and south of the border. Given the importance of the U.S. market, it'll also be very interesting to see how the competition reacts: The new kid on the block vs. the same old, same old.
