Share The Fare
Sometimes you land at the airport, watch the guy in front of you steal your cab, and then find out that you were both going to the same place, anyway. Share The Fare aims to save your cash and put like-destined travellers in the same boat — or taxi, as it were. Users are rated by other fare sharers, so for those late nights when travelling alone isn't a great idea, users can be assured that their "match" has been vetted.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has come up with its own personal expenses tracker, expanding its advice currently put together by financial planners and available on its website. The app, which is in beta, allows users to monitor their spending against a budget, and help identify where they could save money. Data can be backed up as well as exported to CSV format.
