Comée's previous roles include chief executive of Cast Iron Systems, the cloud integration company acquired by IBM in 2010, and of PowerReviews, which was acquired by Bazaarvoice this year for $168 million.
Co-founder (and now chief strategy officer) Kris Duggan had this to say:
[Ken] will step into the role of CEO to help bring Badgeville to the next level as one of the most successful software companies of the decade. Comée has vast experience scaling fast-growth startups into world-class technology companies with thousands of customers.
He added: "I will be working closely with Ken to help continue the growth of our business, as well as to educate the global market on the value of gamification and behavior management for the world's leading companies."
And that's just it, really. Badgeville has made it clear that it believes gamification is more than a business novelty; with the Comée hire, he is signaling that the enterprise market is of particular focus. It's well on its way today: Samsung, Deloitte, Oracle, Microsoft and EMC have all engaged the company's services to date.
