I love a conspiracy and this one was just too juicy to resist.Apparently Apple attempted to clean up the image of the snow leopard that's prominently featured on the Mac OS 10.

I love a conspiracy and this one was just too juicy to resist.

Apparently Apple attempted to clean up the image of the snow leopard that's prominently featured on the Mac OS 10.6 product packaging and Web site so that it's a little more PG-rated according to Gizmodo.

Compared the above to the same picture that's included as a desktop picture in Mac OS 10.6 build 10A432 -- rumored to be the GM:

Notice anything? Take a look at what appears to be blood stains around the mouth of the snow leopard in the second picture, especially around the right side and bottom.

It looks like our (new) favorite cat may have just finished devouring a wild sheep or a goat in the pre-Photoshopped picture. Or did the white cat just enjoy the Windows 7 RTM build as a snack?

The Snow Leopard Trust reports that the cats are able to kill prey three times their weight and that they eat slowly, usually taking 3 or 4 days to consume a sheep or goat.

Lunch anyone?
