Speculation is running rampant about what is going to be announced at tomorrow's event but four things are possible:
- A "true" video iPod. Some speculate that Apple will announce a landscape, full-screen iPod with a virtual click wheel. Apple has filed for several touch-sensitive patents of late which add credence to the full-screen iPod rumor.
- iTunes Movie Store. You'll need content to watch on the new iPod HD (or whatever it will be called) so this would be likely announced at the same time as the iPod.
- Intel-based Mac mini. Costing less than US$500 the new Mac mini will have a 1.67GHz Intel Core Solo processor, 512MB of DDR2 RAM, FrontRow software and remote control and a built-in iSight camera.
- 13-inch widescreen iBook. It may be rebadged as "MacBook" and will ship with a 13.3-inch display and share almost identical specs to the MacBook: 1.67GHz Intel Core Solo processor, FrontRow software and remote control and a built-in iSight camera.
It's unclear if the Mac hardware will debut at tomorrow's event, or at another event closer to the Spring. It's also worth noting that Apple's 30th anniversary is on April 1, 2006 and the may roll out a special Thirtieth Anniversary Mac to mark the occasion.
