The pace of technology never slows, and Apple's no slouch. Apple used last night's Hallowe'en upgrade of the MacBook to also upgrade the MacBook Pro to a 2.6GHz Intel Core at the top end.

The main change to the MBP appears to be the faster 2.6GHz chip, a US$250 upgrade in the top end configuration–which is only available as a Configure To Order (CTO) model. Other changes include 5400RPM hard drives across the board and Mac OS 10.5 Leopard pre-installed.

The new 2.2 and 2.4GHz MBPs are already in many Apple Stores according to reports but you'll still have to order a 2.6GHz model from the online Apple store which is quoting 2-3 weeks delivery.

Anything else new you've noticed between the new and the previous MBP?
