While I prefer to rip open the box and publish little nuggets about the MacBook Pro each day others prefer to write a more detailed and lengthy review of it. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

ARS Technica's Jacqui Cheng has posted a pretty lengthy (seven page) review of the new Intel Apple notebook that is long on details and has plenty of insight as well. One of my favorite parts:

The MacBook Pro is 0.1 inches deeper, 0.4 inches wider, 0.1 inches thinner, and exactly the same weight as the 15" Aluminum PowerBook G4. An 0.4 inch width difference is a seemingly insignificant yet important detail to make note of, as it makes squeezing the MacBook Pro into previously-owned sleeves, bags, and accessories made for other 15" Apple notebooks something like desperately trying to zip up that pair of tight high school jeans while laying on your back and holding your breath—it may technically "fit" but, it doesn't quite, if you know what I mean.

Another observation about the built-in iSight camera:

Speaking of bedrooms, and not in the least bit tongue-in-cheek, I can see the built-in iSight as a new and even easier means for amateur, uh... adult photos... to be taken and sent around the Internet. I, for one, welcome our new Pr0nCam overlords. Okay, not really.

Overall, a great read. If you're in the market for a MacBook (still not used to that name!) give it a read.  I plan to eventually compile all my MacBook Pro tidbits into a more formal review once I've used it long enough to form an opinion on this (so far) wonderful box. For now I prefer to go micro and focus on the keyboard backlight and the like.
