  • Disappointing Move by Apple

Having had an exceptional experience purchasing the iPhone 3G at the local Apple store, I am truly baffled at this move by Apple. Without exception, every time I deal with Apple or Apple products I am very impressed and no longer wonder why they lead the way. They provide superior products and even better service. The staff are professional, very knowledgable and they make a concerted effort to educate their users. To expect this kind of service from Best Buy or any big box electronics retailer is simply a pipe dream. It is hard to imagine Best Buy offering service and product knowledge that is anything close to Apples standards. I question this move and can not imagine it being good for Apple in the long run.

    • No one said Best buy was going to support the iPhone

No one said Best Buy was going to support the iPhone...

They are only allowed to sell it, not support it.... Same goes for AT&T stores, they sell it, they don't support it... The only support Apple allows is via applecare or via a mac genius at an Apple store.

Business as usual... They simply added more local places to buy for people who don't live close to an AT&T store nor an Apple Store.

    • Not Completely True

Ok, I know it might be only one Best Buy, but at the Best
Buy closest to me, I saw 3 staff helping people around the
Macs on display. I listened to them and they were quite
knowledgeable and I saw iPhones on all three of them. My
local store should be able to sell quite a bit of them with
these three people. They were referring to one other
person but she was off that day that I saw them, but all
four of them stood in line to get the original iPhone when
it came out. I think they will be able to sell them and
      answer most questions.
