Briefcase 1.1 coming soon
HeyMac Software has released version 1.1 of Briefcase (iTunes link, US$4.99) to the powers that be at the iTunes App Store. Currently, the App Store still has version 1.0 but the developer expects the update to be available soon.

Briefcase allows you to quickly download any type of file to your iPhone and it requires no cables, client software, network set up, and no typing IP addresses. The iPhone's built-in file viewer allows it to view (but not edit) Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Word, Excel, MP3, M4V, and PDF files.

Here's a rundown of some of the changes coming in v.1.1:

  • Reworked connection interface
  • Overhauled the image viewer.  It can now handle images of arbitrary size.  It uses image tiling to push the iPhone's one mega pixel display limit up to four mega pixels. Anything larger than that will be scaled down to four mega pixels automatically.
  • Added a button to clear keychain passwords
  • Defaults to not saving passwords
  • Online FAQ available within Briefcase. (It's not formatted for iPhone yet, but should be by the time it's approved by Apple)
  • You can now traverse symbolic links, making the "Volumes" file browsing option in the "Get Files" view more useful
