Biography
Jason D. O'Grady
Jason D. O'Grady developed an affinity for Apple computers after using the original Lisa, and this affinity turned into a bona-fide obsession when he got the original 128 KB Macintosh in 1984.
He started writing one of the first Web sites about Apple (O'Grady's PowerPage) in 1995 and is considered to be one of the fathers of blogging. After winning a major legal battle with Apple in 2006, he set the precedent that independent journalists are entitled to the same protections under the First Amendment as members of the mainstream media.
O'Grady is the author of The Nexus One Pocket Guide, The Droid Pocket Guide, The Google Phone Pocket Guide, and The Garmin nuvi Pocket Guide (Peachpit Press), the author of Corporations That Changed the World: Apple Inc. (Greenwood Press), and a contributor to The Mac Bible (Peachpit Press). In addition, he has contributed to numerous Mac publications over the years, including MacWEEK, Macworld, and MacPower (Japan).
When he's not writing about Apple for ZDNet at The Apple Core, he enjoys spending time with his family in New Jersey.

Apple took the wraps off a new TV commercial for the iPad during tonight’s 82nd Academy Awards broadcast. (Unfortunately, Apple’s ads aren’t embeddable, so the YouTube version is embedded in this post). The music in the new iPad ad is The Blue Van’s “There Goes My Love.” Apple used Goldspot’s “Clap Clap” in the iPad video.

Nothing to see here folks
iPad's have been on sale for years now. They're called the iPhone/iPod. Please save your money.

Well, some folks would rather not wear reading glasses to see the screen.
The iPad is perfect for that. Who needs an iPod Touch?

Overgrown iPod? Good.
Guess what, an overgrown iPod is exactly what I've been wanting. My eyes aren't good enough to surf the internet on my iPod. I do like the iPod, though, for music, as a dictionary on the go, a portable chess oponent, and a few other things. Yes, I'll waste my money on the iPad. Of course, I'm one of those strange people who'd rather watch television on a 46 inch screen than an 11 inch one. Weird, I know, but that's the way I am.

i8thecat03/08/2010 10:48 AM -
Not sure. My MacBook Pro does not have that as an option in the translator.
But if I remember correctly, something like:
Exkrap, Richtapple krudzle Mecosaft ransplay.

Envy? Over what?
An oversized iPod? Sheesh. Did you happen to see the Linux and Windows 7 based slate devices coming to market soon? Like the HP slate that - Get this - runs a full featured OS
Imagine that! A full featured OS to do anything on!

RE: First iPad ad airs during Oscars
Great visuals and editing, don't think too much of the music.
IPod will be to portable visuals as IPod was to portable
sound.

Correction
Thats... IPad will be to portable visuals what IPod was to portable sound.
