Google’s voice recognition search application for the iPhone, originally set for launch on Friday, will likely go live sometime Monday, we’ve heard from a source with knowledge of the situation.

As mentioned Friday, the first on iPhone application promises to allow you to speak search terms into the iPhone and get search results.

Update: Although the iTunes page still shows the old version downloading the Google Mobile App (iTunes) will now give you the updated version with voice searching. If you already have it on your iPhone, you first have to delete the old version before downloading the new version. So far it's very, very cool.

I downloaded this app late yesterday. As of the time of this
message it seems not to work like the video demonstration.

I found it kind of ridiculous on Friday when all these
news articles came out jumping on Google for not
coming out with Google Voice Search that very day when
Google had clearly said literally that they would
release this app feature "as SOON as Friday." Which
literally means that it can be released Friday OR, yes
OR anytime after! All the idiot reporters read it the
wrong way reading this as 'as LATE as Friday.' like
that was the cut of day. Not just one reporter mind
you but the lot of them. Anyway soon this awesome
Google feature for iPhone will be released and the
reporters can go about their daily business of
    misreporting.
