iPhone shows up on T-Mobile; is it the 4S or the 5?

Summary: Over the weekend BGR posted some photos of what appears to be a white iPhone being field tested on T-Mobile. The device is shown with two special field-testing apps. Could it be the iPhone 4S?

Over the weekend BGR posted some photos of what appears to be a white iPhone being field tested on T-Mobile. Yes T-Mobile.

The white iPhone in the photos looks virtually identical to the current iPhone 4 running off-the-shelf iOS 4. The pictured device appears to be running on the T-Mobile 3G network and has an ominous warning on the lock screen (which didn't appear to discourage the leaker.) The device is shown with several test settings and two special field-testing apps: MALogger and FieldScout.

Speculation abounds that it could be the iPhone 4S, an iPhone 4 with the same A5 processor found in the iPad that's being given to hand-selected developers for testing - but a 4S tuned for T-Mobile's 3G bands.

26 photos of the device are posted in the BGR gallery.

...or it could just be a white iPhone 4 running on T-Mobile 3G in a country like the UK.

Big deal. People have been running jailbroken and unlocked iPhones on T-Mobile in U.S. for years.

About time! I've been running a jailbroken original, but to update to a new phone is expensive, especially if I want the 32 g, plus it would be nice to benefit from all the current updates.

Its a standard 4 using the exact same chip as the AT&T model. Why would they change it?

Pus, if "rumors" are correct, Apple will be ditching the outer rim antenna setup on the next gen phone.

WoW! It is making me so excited that I am now preparing my medical books and medical terminology sites to put in. I wonder if it will be like iPhone 4 I am sure it would be much better than that. It is like living in Duncan real estate and not in cheap hotels. I will be waiting for the release. I hope it is soon.
