Is this the 3.7-inch iPhone, or Photoshop?

MIC Gadget has posted images of a device that some people are calling the iPhone 4S, in white.

It's definitely not the white iPhone 4 which appeared in the UK last week, and will being arriving at U.S. Best Buy stores on April 27 -- it's packing what appears to be a larger 3.7-inch screen.

Here's another shot of the alleged leak (right) as compared to a 3.5-inch white iPhone front panel (left).

Looks Photoshoppy to me. What's your take?

Why not simply wait till Apple announces the next iPhone? While playing the I got the scoop game people often forget to check their sources, I believe that one of the most important rules of journalism (mind you I could be wrong), is to check your sources.

      @Rick_K I'll second that.

I seem to remember similar speculation about the iPad 2 (ie, SD slot, retina graphics, USB port, 7" display option, etc.).

You don't HAVE to post stuff. If you don't have anything legitimate to talk about or something constructive to bring to the table, take a day off. I think it's better to post good information than to post speculative information such as this.

Nobody will know what the iPhone 5 or 6 or 8 or 20 will look like until Apple releases it. Or someone leaves it in a bar and Gizmodo gets their hands on it.

      Take a break sometime...

    • Journalism?

@Rick_K - I thought the fundamental rule of journalism was 'Never let facts stand in the way of a good story!'

Changing all your manufacturing jigs for 2/10 of an inch is dumb... absolutely false news.

  • Bigger screen cost savings?

If this slight expansion of the screen keeps the same resolution, the "retina" display gets a little less crisp. My guess is that the display will still be around 280-300 ppi, which is still quite stunning and most people won't be able to tell the difference. This could make the touch panels a bit cheaper to manufacture. So the perceived larger screen (edge to edge) would give Apple an additional profit margin on the product.

  • PHotoshop

Looks like Photoshop to me. I have taught PHotoshop and this would be easy to create. That said, they could be creating the larger screen, and I think they may. But, the screen looks like Photoshop to me.

I looks like a photoshopped. The glare pattern doesn't appear to match the icons on the screen.

Nice rumor though the logic behind such a move escapes me. Apple has a perfectly good screen as it is for the iPhone 4. I suspect, based on some rumors on AppleInsider earlier today about iPhone '6' ramping up production with a totally new technology for the screen that you'll be seeing iPhone '5' as more of an incremental evolution, much as the 3GS was.

Though I must admit I'm puzzled why this is gaining any traction at all.

The image of a hand holding the supposed device is clearly Photoshopped, however the image below on the right with a reflection of a point and shoot camera may be a template for the coming iPhone 5 screen.

Wow! iPhone 4S will be release later. So I think this photo whether it's Photoshopped or not, doesn't matter now because there is really iPhone 4S. It was a disappointment to some people that it wasn't iPhone 5. As what I heard from early reviews,iPhone 4S may look similar iPhone 4 but the difference is a faster processor chip, better camera~ an 8MP which will allow me to take better iPhone cool pictures and Speech Recognition. It also has Find My Friends feature of iOS 5. Potential commands would be like "is my sister at Toronto homes " or "who is here?"
