iTunes Movie Trailers for iOS puts HD trailers in your pocket

As part of the launch of iOS 5, Apple has released a trio of new iOS apps including its iTunes Movie Trailers app (free) which offers easy access its enormously popular library of movie trailers and previews in HD.

With it you can browse movie trailers, clips, featurettes and photos from a wide range of studios, review a year-long calendar of movie releases, find showtimes near you and get ticket info. Trailers is a universal app which means that it will work on any iOS device, including: iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

A movie trailer is an ad.

So the article should be titled: "iTunes puts ads in your pocket". Wow, what an innovation.

So Apple wants to compete with the developers who helped sell their hardware like Flixster and Fandango. What's next, an Apple "Angry Bird-y?" Hey app developers, Apple wants to compete with you if you get popular. Not cool...
