By the time the computer reached the 21st Century there was supposed to be no paper. And certainly not for wireless Internet devices such as the iPad and iPhone. However, the real world decides “different,” as we say in the Apple community.

WiFi Direct
PrintCentral v1.5 also contains leading advancements in the way iPad & iPhone users can print directly to WiFi printers. This major leap in functionality means that a device owner can either be part of, or join a WiFi network and they will see all of the printers available along with the capabilities and quality of each printer. This is ideal for any environment including home or office printing, but it also means that customers who are traveling on business can now easily use Hotel or internet cafes for printing without additional setup.

No WiFi - No problem
With all these new features customers with Bluetooth and USB printers are not forgotten, they can still use their printers via the free print server software that is loaded onto their computer. Also iPad & iPhone owners that do not have access to corporate WiFi networks can use the 3G printing capability and still be able to print at their offices.

The app costs $9.99 and Version 1.5 is a free upgrade to owners of previous versions.

Look at the iPod/iPhone iTunes ecosystem, 90% of all third party devices, cars, planes, etc are made for Apple's proprietary dock connector. And if the device does allow another the use of any mp3 player, it's through its headphone jack.

Now you have all these 150 million iOS devices printing wirelessly to shared printers and even printer manufacturers will be incorporating their technology (HP's only the first of many, everyone wants to ride the iOS bus as the road is paved with gold) right into the printers. The bigger the iOS ecosystem gets, the less room there is for copycats.

iPads are going to be everywhere (they already are) hospitals, schools, hotels. And corporations are going to want to buy the tablet that prints the easiest, has the most apps, etc. and that's only item, the iPad.

No other device manufacturer has the software know how or the creative geniuses that Apple has. It's the culture. Creative people that think out of the box and also have an eye for design want to work for Apple and would not work at Microsoft.

Microsoft gets the opposite, visionless programmers with not one iota of creativity. Look at their leader Balmer, I can't think of a person less fit for that job. But as an Apple shareholder, I never want to see him leave

Can you imagine a tablet with 1,122,000 known viruses (Symantec estimate in 2008)? Who in their right mind is going to buy a Windows tablet; OS not designed for touch, battery life of 5 hours max, blue screen of death, etc.

Oh yeah, the Apple haters that would bite their nose to spite their face. And since they've never tried an iOS product (they to pass off picking one up for two seconds as trying one) they'll think their Windows slate is heaven sent. Like the guy that never drove anything better than a go-cart looking at a Ferrari and saying,"That's crap".

It's sad actually. To never experience something better than what you have.

Heck, I was a Windows user once. I'd never go back and neither would all of the clients I've switched. They actually thank me all the time.

The iPad does offer VGA and USB through its famous 30 pin connector. And there were wireless printing capabilities way before this through apps in the app store. Plus companies like Epson, HP, Cannon offered their own printing app in the app store. Lets update our talking points please. And most users hardly miss Flash when there are alternatives taking its place on the iDevices.

Companies like Sap already announced the deployment of 17,000 iPads to employees. This device is already a huge winner. Apple was smart by continuing to use the 30 pin connector on the iPad. It means an army of accessory partners that saw success with iPods and iPhones throughout the years will be lining up again to make accessories for the successful iPad (made for british urban from it kids is from playing saint only goverment to need online always today from finance and lot of money iPad).
