Unlike previous (blurry) pictures of the new MacBooks, there's a new video of Tuesday's upcoming MacBook revision. It's very clear in spots and, if real, provides new angles at the unannounced machine.

The video ("New Aluminum MacBook Ver. 1") clocks in at about 2 minutes and takes you panning around the edges of the machine to the tune of Feist's 1 2 3 4).

In the video the keyboard is covered by a piece of paper, presumably to hide clues that could tie the video back to the source. The glossy white bezel indicates that it's the white version of the machine, which is fabricated from two separate pieces counter to the "brick" rumors.

The power button appears to be glossy silver and not the brushed aluminum that is on the current MBP. At 00:41 you can see the trackpad which is identical to the trackpad on the MacBook Air. Also identical is the MBA-style notch under the trackpad which skeptics would say is edited footage from that machine.

At about the 00:52 mark, as your panning up the left side you can see an unassembled panel (pictured, above left) that appears to be the bottom shell from another machine. It is also almost identical to the bottom casing of the MBA, right down to the hinge notch, rubber foot, vents and screw holes. This also debunks the theory that it's made from a brick of aluminum.

  • It is a fake

Why no wide angle shot of the entire unit?
Like the three blind men and the elephant: "seeing" small parts of it from different areas give the impression of something entirelly different then viewing the elephant as a ahole.

Could be the same psychiatry is being applied here to lure in the unsuspecting?

It's a macbook air. They've even used the music from the
    macbook air advert.

Hasn't anyone from this website seen a macbook air before?

And you got the song name wrong, it's not "1,2,3,4" by Feist,
it's "New Soul" By Yael Naim.

    Come on people!

  • Here's my take on this lyric:

    I - am - a - student
And I really want a Mac
    But-I-really can't afford
    Mac Mini!

    Mac Mini is okay,
    but I don't want-to-buy them now
    Because-I-can't -- get-the-most
    Out of the hardware.

    Why do-I-want a built-in
    Monitor in iMac?
    Having an iMac act as-a-tower
    Makes no sense.

    I really don't want-a Macbook
to take me where I go
    So I don't - want a Macbook so
    Here comes Mac Pro!

    I can't afford a Mac Pro
But I really like to have it
    Because I love to upgrade
    The hardware.

Why have high - end parts
    Like the Intel 8-Core Xeon?
    Those components are overkill
    For a hobbyist!

I want to break my bank
    To get myself a Mac
    It - makes - my - bank
    Feel so good!

I want to break my bank
    To get myself a Mac
    It - makes - my - bank
    Feel so good!

    It - makes - my - bank
    Feel so good!

    It makes...

    ...my bank...

    ...feel -- so...

    ...good!!!

This pretty much does look like a MBA, I must say. Even right down to the music :D

I'm skeptical of this video. I'm also skeptical of the whole
'milled from a solid piece of aluminum' rumor. I can't see
how this is economical to CNC each case. Yah, it'd be darn
pretty, (I love milled metal!) but it takes far more time than
making a case of stamped aluminum and steel components.
Mayhaps it might be used on a limited edition, but I'd really
doubt a regular production laptop. I would however be delighted to be proven wrong and Apple has done that twice
to me in the past 5 years.

I am really skeptical about a few things...
    1. If it is real, why not take a shot of the whole thing?
    2. Why the paper over the keyboard?
    3. Why no shots of the ports on the unit?
    4. Why no shots of the lid closed?
Okay.. That's more than a few. Looks like a MacBook Air to me.

I think the Brick is the new lcd Apple TV. Do you remember an old skit from the 80's about throwing a brick at the TV because the programming was so bad? I think that Apple is playing on that imagery and the new Apple TV is the "brick".
