Iphone pricing in Portugal-robbery
portugalsa 7th Jul 2008
This is a complete hijack! Worst pricing for the iphone until now! The prices on the other carier in Portugal (Optimus/Orange) are equally insane! High pricing for the phone and really high prices each month, with little included (100 min+100SMS+250 or 500Mb of traffic).
Really lousy!
And the Canadians and Italians were upset. What about the portuguese? I really hope the news gets to Steve. Maybe he can do something about it.
It won't sell well here in Portugal, I can garantee it!

Apple's got a real problem with all these carriers totally
gouging the consumer. I hate to say this but I could see 3G
sales way down because of these prices.

Are we slowly working our way to a fully unlocked iPhone I
could take to any compatible carrier?

robbery

Despite i'm a big fan of Apple, and by that converting friends and family around, i'll never buy, or advice, the iphone with these plans: they are horribly expensive and totally outside of what is being practiced abroad.
My only wish is that nobody buys the iphone in order to make a stand against the carriers.

Don't forget the portuguese minds...
minimalistic 8th Jul 2008
Altough the price is obviously obscene, portuguese folks will still buy it. Because common minds here in Portugal need to have something that the fellow person doesn't have. Even if it is a golden gadget the it's unusable because of the rates.

Many people will end up with a golden brick. Using the same features that any 30USD mobile phone can do. Ok, a few more features, but not the online ones...
