Which case to pick for the iPhone 4 Case Program?

Apple’s program offers customers a free case to fix the iPhone 4’s antenna issue and the company currently offers a range of in-house and third-party cases. But which to pick?

The Apple Toolbox blog pulled together a quick rundown for each case, including the Apple iPhone 4 Bumper, Incase Snap Case (clear and smoke) for iPhone 4, Belkin Shield Micra for iPhone 4, Griffin Motif iPhone 4 Diamonds/Smoke, Griffin Reveal Etch iPhone 4, Speck Fitted Case iPhone 4, and Speck PixelSkin HD iPhone 4.

The reviews look at potential compatibility problems with peripherals such as docks and speaker docks.

To get the case, customers must download the iPhone 4 Case Program app from the App Store.

    I decided to get the Belkin Micra case. I wanted the bumper case, but if I was going to get a case it better well protect the phone. I ended up getting a knockoff bumper case for $3.30. Apple doesn't spend $29 to make the bumper. If you got the bumper why don't you just hand your money to Apple?

    I say suck it up and buy a ZAGG full body with the side panels. It makes the antenna issue go away and keeps the design as the designers meant it to be! Just a thought.

    Wait, that won't be any of them. Not that the phone needs a case as it works great without one. But I will get my money back on the bumper I bought (thinking I would use it) and simply don't use. Turns out, I really do not like cases on my cell phones.

  • Does Apple's own case need a bumper too?
    If so not that one.....unless its in white...

    Another setback once again for Apple it will be interesting to see what's next in the news regarding iPhone issues (antenna, manufacturing) and their steps to refund cases won?t make up for the iPhone 4's lack of function over form.

    It's a shame to see so many issues with the iPhone 4 after so many people waited for it's release. What's more of a shame is that it seems Apple knew about some of these issues already, such as the problem with reception.

    But Apple have created such a loyal following that people may just put up with what issues there are for the sake of owning the latest Apple product.
    Personally, I'd be happier with an older iPhone - at least then the issues are all ironed out.

    However, it's also interesting to see how much excitement new technologies can bring. New technology and innovation is important for new business, illustrated by entrepreneurship grants and new business competitions like http://www.ukesnc.com.

    Guess it's not all bad!
