Speaking of echo chambers...

Has anyone else noticed that Techmeme is just a few punctuation marks away from Tech? Me! Me!

Discuss that thought in the Talkback section, or add your own thought on a completely new and different topic. Or ask a question about Windows Vista. Yes, this is an open thread.

PS: I am sooooo glad I was too busy this week to install the hacked release of WordPress on any of my websites. Otherwise I'd be slaving over a hot FTP client instead of sitting behind the wheel.

except for days when you don't. I'll check back in about 2 months, you should just be getting to that last Vista Hands On tip by then. If you hadn't posted that one a day line in your edbott.com weblog I wouldn't be as disappointed.

  • Vista Printing

I'm plugging away at Vista for my Company now.

I noticed Vista stopped my terminal emulator from sending LPR print commands from my servers to my HP printers. The commands now print at the top of the page. Any ideas how to get Vista to pass them through as commands?

Has anyone have any idea why vista gives all kinds of errors when connecting a WEP authentication wireless network. As I have a client whose whole network is on WEP authentication. Xp connects and works fine but VISTA gives an error: AUTHENTICATION PROCESS DOES NOT MATCH THE NETWORK YOU TRYING TO CONNECT TO. I 've googled this message and it points to the firewall but we've disabled the firewall and still nogo. We've disable the UAC and still nothing. I've discovered that Microsoft has posted a fix for a similar problem, but it relates to VPN problems. We are going to try it anyway, but if anyone can shed any further light or has had a similar problem and fixed it please let me know by emailing me at david_devilliers@dell.com
