BofA's online banking site, mobile apps experiencing outage

By | July 23, 2010, 2:38pm PDT

Summary: Bank of America’s online banking site and mobile apps are inaccessible. The bank says it’s working on restoring access.

Access to Bank of America’s online banking and mobile banking sites appear to be down this afternoon, a widespread problem that appears to have started before 2 p.m. PT  - based on tweets reporting the problem.

A couple of us at ZDNet have also been able to confirm problems getting into Web-based site, as well as the mobile apps. Other parts of the BofA site - home loans, IRAs and so on - don’t appear to be affected.

A tweet on the BofA Help Twitter page indicates that the bank is aware of the outage and is working to restore access.
