The TouchPad has taken the tech blogosphere by storm today, and here's another little nugget of news about HP's answer to the iPad: the Box app for the TouchPad will include 50GB of free cloud space.

Yes, that is 50GB of free cloud storage space for the "lifetime of a Box account." That approximately equates to a mixture of 50,000 documents, docs and photos.

That's not bad as the TouchPad is only available with 16GB and 32GB capacity options, and considering only a few years ago most laptops were shipping with base hard drive capacities around 50GB to 60GB.

Current Box subscribers with personal 5GB accounts will automatically get 50GB added to their accounts.

The Box for HP TouchPad app will be ready to download when the first tablet shipments go out tomorrow, July 1. Hopefully this app can keep TouchPad owners content as there aren't that many available to download at launch time, especially when you compare it to the Android Market and iTunes App Store. The HP Pivot magazine will also be around to promote the apps on hand with additional exclusive content.
