Hewlett-Packard and Lenovo updated their desktop and notebook lineups for the start of the Consumer Electronics Show. 
Each company outlined the changes in their respective statements. Here’s a look at the more notable items:
- Lenovo announced the IdeaCentre A320 (right), an all-in-one that is 18.5mm at its thinnest point. The system, which starts at $699, is designed for HD video and comes with an Intel Core i5 processor and a 21.5-inch screen. The company also rolled out the IdeaCentre B520, a frameless all-in-one PC, and two other units. Most of these unites won’t be available until June.
- Lenovo also announced a series of new IdeaPads. A new Y Series—Y570d, Y570, Y470—are designed to boot fast, offer premium graphics and the latest Intel Core processors. Lenovo’s Z Series was also updated with new Intel chips and new colors such as sky blue and dark brown. Lenovo also added two ultraportable laptops, the IdeaPad S100 and S205.

For small businesses, Lenovo launched the B570 and B470 designed to meld personal and work uses. - HP launched the Pavilion dm1 (right), which is an 11.6-inch notebook that’s less than an inch thin. The dm1 features second gen Intel Core processors and AMD’s Radeon graphics chips. The dm1 also boasts up to 10.75 hours of battery life.
- The HP Envy 17 was also updated with better cooling and updated processors.
- On the business side, HP announced a series of business desktops. HP also announced new thin clients designed for virtualized and cloud environments.
